Current Projects
We are constantly striving to increase
production and generate income for the area. To do this, certain thinks need
to happen and they all have a cost. Because of the remoteness of the area,
services like electricity are non-existent. Income generating projects
outside of agriculture are near impossible and this creates a lack of meaningful employment.
Without financial support to complete the projects, the goal of being
self-sufficient will not happen. We need your help.
Phase 2 of our community economic programme has commenced. Trees are
a necessary commodity, low maintenance and a continuous source of income.
There is now a nursery which sells pine trees, eucalyptus and coffee. Some other
cash producing trees will be introduced in the future.
Transport has always been a problem in this
area due to poor roads.

Scholarship fund
Effective 2010,
students from Tekera Primary graduate each year and hope to move on to
secondary school. Many parents cannot afford the high fees. This
will provide for their funding requirements and provide a pool for
those needing partial assistance.
