Current Projects
We are constantly striving to increase
production and generate income for the area. To do this, certain thinks need
to happen and they all have a cost. Because of the remoteness of the area,
services like electricity are non-existent. Income generating projects
outside of agriculture are near impossible and this creates a lack of meaningful employment.
Without financial support to complete the projects, the goal of being
self-sufficient will not happen. We need your help.
Phase 2 of our community economic programme is ready to commence.
Trees are a necessary commodity, low maintenance and a continuous source of
income. See
TREES
Due to
a huge increase in the inflation rate over the past 4 months, the budget has
been adjusted for June/08. The original proposal was set six months ago
and cost have increased 25-90% since
the beginning of the year. Roofing nails, as an example, were 3500/kilo in
February and now are 6500/kilo (in shillings).
We bought roofing sheets for the
kitchen in March at 14,000/= and now they sell at 18,000/=. In spite
of the increases, we will make every effort to reduce costs by finding
alternatives locally while maintaining strict safety guidelines.
